Adjustments & Manipulation

Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity , mental and emotional stress, chemical toxicity or physical trauma such as a car accident.

When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can't function at our peak. .
In addition to the more traditional types of manual adjustments, Dr. Kettering has taken advanced training in the use of the ArthroStim. The ArthroStim is a hand held instrument that is an extension of the doctors hand and allows for a more controlled and specific force to correct spinal misalignments.

The Arthrostim introduces a gentle force into the body at 12-14 cycles per second. This allows the doctor to deliver a highly effective and specific adjustment while reducing the peak force. This speed is scientifically referred to as the somato-motor rhythm that is associated with a balanced and relaxed nervous system.
Benefits of the ArthroStim

. Adjustments hold longer
. Allows greater spinal correction in less time
. No cracking or twisting
. Ideal for children and older patients
. More balanced nervous system
. Good for herniated disc and sciatic patients
Dr. Kettering will determine which type of adjustment will produce the greatest affect in the least amount of time.
